Emma Bathgate stretches & plays with her vocal pallet as an instrument. She croons the sweetest jazz n blues around. Improvises both musically & per-formatively - electrifying audiences & taking them into shared sonic realms & beauty in song. With a strong free dynamic stage presence - Emma continues to collaborate and perform in many Melbourne iconic shows. Working collaboratively in both music, theatre & contemporary dance projects - in live & recorded works.
Emma facilitates & activates PEOPLE TO: SING & SOUND - connect to their own voice & story - ACTIVATE THEIR OWN VOICE - Become familiar with breath meditation voice awareness - VOCALLY EXPLORE & PLAY - build confidence in speaking.
Living on the unseeded lands of the Kulin Nations of the Wurundjeri, Boonwurrung, DjaDja Wurrung Peoples - Emma pays her respects to all First Nations Peoples past present and emerging.
Current music projects are The Dilapidated Diva, Emma’s SOLO VOX PIANO WORKS, BATHHARA, Lavender vs Rose and member of ButohOut! 2023/22/21 singing in conjunction with dancer Yumi Umiumare.
Past shows are; Atonal Bitch, Hunters GateTorque Show / Intimacy, director Melinda Hetzel, Tony Yap Company and Snuff Puppets. Creator and producer of award winning cabaret performance art; The Dilapidated Diva and The Church of Burt.
Projects in hiatus are: Hunters Gate with musician Myfanwy Hunter & Atonal Bitch with bassist Kirri Buchler & drummer Sam Evans.
Prior collaborations with trumpeter Andy Diagram (UK), SHIMA project with concert harpist Natalia Mann percussionist Naomi Jean Sullivan.
